The Irish Handmade Glass Company

Irish Handmade Glass produce some of the finest handblown crystal in the world & required a unique approach to their online presence. They approached us as they needed to upgrade their website while adding an e-commerce element.

We were delighted with the challenge & set about devising a plan that would leave their competition in the shade. We decided to create a full screen video background while also capturing professional imagery to showcase their beautiful crystal products.

What we did

> Responsive Web Design

Like all our websites we provide a fully mobile responsive design in order to provide users with a consistent feel across multiple devices such as iPhone, iPads etc… This is vital in todays modern age as the majority of uses now access websites on the go on mobile devices; more so than traditional desktops.

The site created for IHMG conforms to best practices & uses multi media queries to determine the size of the screen being used to access the site. It then has the ability to serve a webpage specific to the device so text, links & images are easily viewed.

> E-Commerce

IHGC have a serious catalogue of products & the challenge for us was to present them in a way that each category was simple to browse. We spent a considerable amount of time ordering the products in a simple format.

Because of the international appeal of their products we were also required to setup a number of shipping rules to serve Ireland, Europe, USA & the rest of the world. A simple order reporting system allows them to easily mange all orders & view reports on sales by week, month or year.

> Video

Our vision for the guys was born from the fact that they offer a unique artisan product which needs to be front & center on their website. What better way to showcase this to their customers but by offering a full screen video background on entering the site.

A dark overlay was added to give the video an artisan appearance in fitting with their product offering. Adding of the video to the homepage really sets the tone for the rest of the site, which we are very proud of.
